RES analyzes a company’s energy spending and usage patterns to identify opportunities for improvements and savings. Our analyses also identify potential renewable energy deployments that are technically and economically feasible. Integrated into all of our analyses and recommendations are estimates of and reduction plans for potential carbon exposure (emissions fees or pass-through costs associated with forthcoming climate legislation). Our systematic process, which we execute in part or whole for different clients, includes:
- Energy audits, analysis and mapping
- GHG emissions / carbon estimation, compliance planning and strategic management
- Renewable energy project development
- Energy efficiency implementation
Our process identifies cost-saving opportunities for energy reduction. By leading with energy efficiency, we identify savings that more than offset our fees for GHG compliance planning and renewable energy project development.
We use energy mapping as the framework for our energy and carbon management planning. Energy maps dissect a client’s energy spending and greenhouse gas footprint into components that are characterized and prioritized for improvement. We identify and develop projects for energy efficiency and distributed renewable energy generation that cut spending and improve energy security.
Our greenhouse gas inventorying not only prepares clients for regulatory compliance, but also indicates where reductions are most cost-effectively achieved. We develop carbon management plans that specify strategies and time frames for abating emissions and describe the range of financial and public relations benefits derived from each step.
RES develops and deploys utility-scale renewable energy for Independent Power Producers (IPPs). RES roles in renewable energy development include:
-
Resource assessment
-
Feasibility studies
-
Financing and partnerships
-
Environmental assets
-
Project management and owner’s representation
RES designs and implements large-scale efficiency projects for commercial and industrial facilities. Many efficiency measures have a negligible or even zero up-front cost, so payback periods are short and projects enjoy high returns on investment. RES and its partners are currently developing proprietary technologies to boost the energy efficiency of mining operations.
